Thumbkins

At least that's what I call them!  Aren't these weird looking things?  My Joseph has been sucking his thumb since before he was born - he was sucking his thumb during his ultrasound!  It's not really a problem, but our dentist has talked to him about it and asked him to try and stop.  And Joseph wants to stop-especially in the winter time because his little mouth gets all chapped.  So, I found this great pattern and knit him up a pair of these contraptions.  They work like a charm.  If he really wants to suck his thumb he pops it off, but if he does it unawares this lovely wool reminds him to keep his thumb out of his mouth.  The important thing is he loves them.  Wouldn't it be nice if we could help solve all our childrens problems so easily with a bit of knitting?
